The Engineers dropped their first two home games of the season to the Mercyhurst Lakers, bringing their record to 0‒6‒0. Hannah Price scored the Engineers’ only goal of the weekend, and Amanda Rampado made a combined 62 saves on 66 shots for a 0.939 save percentage. Rensselaer returns to the Houston Field House for a two-game set against RIT on October 21 and 22 at 3 pm.

Quarterback Jake Kazanowsky connected with DJ Palmer for two fourth-quarter touchdowns to mount a staggering 14-point comeback, defeating the Hobart Statesmen 16‒13 to remain undefeated in the Liberty League. The Rensselaer defense continued their solid form as third in Division III in total defense and fifth in scoring defense, holding the visitors to 201 yards of total offense and forcing a safety.

TJ Walsh recorded a hat trick and an assist in the Engineers’ 7‒4 victory over the Army West Point Black Knights. Jack Agnew tallied three assists, Lauri Sertti and Jakob Lee both with two as well, and John Evans and Max Smolinksi netted their first collegiate goals. The win brings Rensselaer’s record to 4‒0‒0, the best start to an RPI season since 1999.

Kyle Osborne headed in the Engineers’ winning goal in a 2‒1 victory at Union.

The Rensselaer Engineers beat the Mercyhurst Lakers 6‒3 in their home opener after netting a goal 33 seconds in and converting on both of their first two power plays. Jakob Lee finished the night with five points on two goals and three assists, Jake Gagnon with three points on a goal and two assists, and Ryan Mahshie with two goals. In the game the following night, RPI’s Jack Brackett buried an overtime winner to take the contest 3‒2.

The Toronto Varsity Blues grabbed a game-winning goal with six minutes remaining to defeat the Engineers 2‒1. This was Rensselaer’s last game before their season opener against Mercyhurst on October 7. Goaltenders Brett Miller and Carson Cherepak registered 14 and seven saves, respectively, in the defeat. Sutter Muzzatti netted his first goal in an RPI sweater off an assist from Jack Brackett.

Rensselaer hosted five Division I teams for the Siena Invitational. Several Engineers advanced deep into the back draw. The doubles team consisting of Nikki Ridenour and Lorna Flores Gonzalez will be competing at the ITA Cup in October.

The Engineers scored three goals in three minutes to shoot down the Bard Raptors 3-0 in their Liberty League opener. Scorers for Rensselaer were Paul Silva, who buried two penalties, and Joaquin Rodriguez, who opened his collegiate tally.

After a tight contest through three periods, the Montreal Carabins notched a goal in overtime to defeat Rensselaer 3‒2. Asiah Taylor-Walters and Ellie Kaiser tallied goals for the Engineers, Amanda Rampado and Emilie Venne boasted impressive outings between the pipes.

Rensselaer blew out WPI 37‒0 to remain reigning champions of the Transit Trophy Game and to keep the hardware in Troy. The RPI offense threw for 151 passing yards, ran for 231 rushing yards, and scored five touchdowns. The defense racked up eight sacks, collected two interceptions, and held WPI to 105 yards of total offense to shut them out.

The Engineers beat Mount Saint Mary College 5–2 in their return to home after a three-game road trip. RPI plays their next home game against Utica on September 27.

Paul Silva scored a brace in the Engineers’ 2‒1 victory over Keene State, including a game-winning penalty 26 seconds after the Owls’ equalizer. The Engineers play their next game at East Campus Stadium on September 16 at 6:30 pm against the Oneonta Red Dragons.

Rensselaer hosted five Division I teams for the Siena Invitational, their first time hosting the tournament. Engineers Aiden Drover-Mattinen and Abraham Yohannes won singles flights A and B, respectively, and three RPI doubles pairings reached the finals.

The No. 22 Engineers fell 10‒7 to the Carnegie Mellon Tartans in their first meeting since 1911. The loss ends the longest home winning streak in school history at 14 games.

SUNY Oneonta beat the Engineers 2–0 in their first game of the season. The Engineers play their next home game against the Mount Saint Mary Knights on September 13.

The Engineers fell to the UMass Boston Beacons 2‒1 in the opening game of the season, after two first-half goals put the match out of reach. The Engineers return to East Campus Stadium on September 13 at 7:30 pm to take on the Keene State Owls.

The No. 20 Engineers start their season off with a 14‒7 win against the Dickinson Red Devils, bringing their record to 1‒0 on the season. They return to action on September 10 at 1 pm against the Carnegie Mellon Tartans at home.

Despite trailing 7‒4 heading into halftime, the No. 10 St. Lawrence Saints shut out the No. 14 Engineers and scored seven goals in the second half to secure an 11‒7 victory. Trey Froehlich ’22 and Ryan Raftery ’22 led the Engineers with two goals apiece, and Joseph Perry made 14 saves on 25 shots.

The Engineers swept the Vassar Brewers in their doubleheader to move up into third in the Liberty League East. Hudson Livesey ’22 led the charge for Rensselaer in the first game with four hits in five at-bats, collecting six RBIs. Both earning wins, Chris Grome (Gr) increased his record to 4‒1 and Ryan Yerby (Gr) became 2‒3 for the season.

Despite a comeback in the fourth quarter, No. 12 RPI fell 12–9 to No. 4 Union. Trey Berry ’25, Connor Glosner ’22, and Cooper Urban ’22 led the Engineers in goals with two each. Goalie Joseph Perry ’25 saved 19 of the Dutchmen’s 31 shots on goal.

An incredible comeback from Emilio Van Cotthem ’25 finished off the Brandeis Judges for the Engineers’ tenth consecutive victory. Along with Van Cotthem, Aiden Drover-Mattinen ’25 and Abraham Yohannes won their singles matches. Drover-Mattinen was also triumphant in doubles with Peter Lohrbach ’22.

Giving up only two goals in the last three quarters, the Engineers trounced the RIT Tigers 18-5. Sabrina Torcellini '22 and Ella Graff '25 led the scoring with four goals a piece, with Megan Shay '23 and Lisa Boehmer '25 also racking up hat tricks in the victory.

The No. 19 Engineers took down No. 1 RIT to remain undefeated in the Liberty League. Cooper Urban ’22 and Trey Froehlich ’22 led the way with a hat trick each, the two combining for Rensselaer’s decisive goal. Joseph Perry ’25 guarded the RPI net impressively, tallying 23 saves on 35 shots on goal for a .657 save percentage.

The Engineers overtook the Union Dutchwomen with a four-goal run in the fourth quarter, resulting in a 15‒13 win. Sabrina Torcellini ’22 led the way for the Engineers with six goals, and Rylie Maready ’23 added to Rensselaer’s tally with a hat trick. Goalie Olivia Kimball ’23 helped the Engineers edge out Union in the second half, recording nine saves on 13 shots to earn her third win of the season. After winning their next game at Utica 14‒9, the Engineers are 5‒2 on the season.
