The Engineers thrashed the Coast Guard Bears 18‒8 in their snowy season opener on Saturday, with Connor Glosner ’22, Trey Froehlich ’22, and Tyler Nalls ’22 all boasting hat tricks in the victory.

After winning out their last six games, the Engineers secured first place and will host the Liberty League Tournament next weekend. The semifinals will be played on Saturday and the finals on Sunday.

The Engineers fell to the Colgate Raiders 3‒2 in the 44th annual Big Red Freakout. Jack Watson ’25 made 28 saves in the loss. With four games left in the season, Rensselaer is five points behind Cornell in fourth place, the last place for a first-round bye in the playoffs, and a point above Princeton in eighth, the last place for home-ice advantage.

During the Blue & Orange Invitational at Utica College on January 29, Matt Lecky ’23 broke the school and facility record in the 3000-meter run with a time of 8:16.18. Previously, the record was held by Rensselaer alumnus Ben Fazio ’17, in a time of 8:18.57.

In November, current No. 16 Cornell crushed the Engineers 11‒3 in Ithaca. Back in Troy last night, the Engineers butchered the Big Red 6‒2 after scoring five unanswered goals in the last two periods. Ture Linden ’22 and Jakub Lacka ’22 each put two tallies on the scoreboard, Justin Addamo (Gr) scored one of the greatest goals of the season, and Jack Watson ’25 recorded 39 saves.

The Engineers suffered a 3‒2 overtime loss to the Princeton Tigers and a 3‒0 loss to the current No. 7 Yale Bulldogs last weekend. With five games remaining in the season, the Engineers are tenth in the ECAC standings, sitting six points below Princeton, the bubble team for the playoffs.

For the first time in two years, non-student spectators could see the Engineers take the ice at the MVP Arena on Saturday for the fourth Annual Mayor's Cup. Marah Wagner ’23 netted the game-winning goal with just over four minutes remaining to defeat the Union Dutchwomen 2‒0, bringing the trophy back to Troy. Amanda Rampado ’23 recorded her second career shutout with 28 saves and Asiah Taylor-Walters ’24 recorded her first collegiate goal.

The Engineers took a devastating loss against the Dutchmen at the Mayor’s Cup. Despite outshooting Union 33‒17, Rensselaer lost the riveting match with a score of 2‒0, bringing their overall record to 11-15-3.

The Engineers were defeated after blowing a 2‒0 lead as the Brown Bears scored three unanswered goals in the last two periods. The loss drops them down into sixth place in the ECAC, with the Union Dutchmen replacing them at fifth.

The Engineers racked up a 4‒0 win on the road at St. Lawrence University. Jack Watson ’25 earned his first career shutout, finishing the game with a total of 41 saves. James McIsaac ’24 and Reid Leibold ’25 netted their first career goals in the victory.

Four different Engineers added their names to the scoresheet as Rensselaer defeated the Princeton Tigers 4‒1. The Engineers are currently in fifth place in the ECAC with a record of 4‒4‒0, and are now 7‒8‒2 on the season.

A 42-yard touchdown run from Dylan Burnett ’22 and a late interception by Francis Perry ’22 secured a 21‒14 victory over the No. 13 SUNY Cortland Red Dragons. The No. 18 Engineers are set to face the reigning champion No. 1 North Central College Cardinals in the Elite Eight.

For the first time in 30 years, the Engineers racked up over 100 points in their home opener, crushing SUNY Cobleskill 101‒48. Jonny Angbazo ’23, Mason Memmelaar ’22, and Patrick Mahoney ’22 all tallied double-digit points in the victory.

The Engineers continue their playoff journey as they defeated Endicott College 20‒14. They are set to take on the Cortland Red Dragons in the second round of the NCAA tournament.

The predatory Engineers' power play drew blood as they netted three goals in a 7‒2 victory over the Long Island University Sharks, with ECAC Rookie of the Week John Beaton ’24 scoring the first two goals of his collegiate career. The Engineers’ record now stands at 6‒5‒2.

John Reed (Gr) and Nia Goddard '23 earned Liberty League Performer of the Week as a result of their performance during the NCAA Division III Mideast Cross Country Regional meet. Six Engineers on the Men's team, including Reed, received All-Region honors.

The Liberty League title and Dutchman Shoes trophy returned to Troy after Rensselaer defeated Union 19‒17 following a nerve-wracking final minute, capped off by a game-winning field goal from Trevor Bisson ’22. The Engineers will travel to Endicott College to face the Gulls in the first round of the NCAA tournament.

The Engineers scored two goals in the third period to defeat the Clarkson Golden Knights 3‒1. The Engineers are now 5‒3‒1 in the regular season and 3‒1‒0 in the ECAC.

This weekend the Engineers faced off against the Saint Lawrence Saints in the Liberty League semifinals, losing 2‒0. Both Raphael Zoccolaro and Robert Reynolds scored for the Saints in the second half, winning the game. The Saints would go on to win the championship game against Ithaca College.

The Ithaca Bombers missed a game-tying field goal with 34.1 seconds remaining to give the Engineers a 14‒11 victory. The win increased Rensselaer’s season record to 7‒1 and their league record to 3‒1, setting up a close race for the Liberty League championship title.

The Engineers finished top of the Liberty League and are set to host the semifinal and championship games. Rensselaer will play St. Lawrence University on Saturday at 11 am at the East Campus Athletic Village Stadium.

The Engineers defeated rival Union College 3‒0 in the annual “blackout” game at the Houston Field House. The win completes the season-long sweep over Union and brings RPI’s season record to 4‒2‒1.
