Senate updates bylaws to reshape its internal structure and confirms appointments for new Senate officers

A new motion to dramatically reshape the organization of the Student Senate’s internal structure passed. Several new Senate officers were appointed, including a contentious one for Daniel Chappell, who made several controversial remarks concerning the RPI Playhouse.

An inquiry committee has been formed to investigate the increasingly strained relationship between the RPI Players and the Union Executive Board. Also, RPI is seeking re-accreditation by the Middle States Commission on Higher Education.

RPI Players back on probation over GoFundMe campaign

In her first E-Board meeting as President of the Union, Isabele Lieber ’25, ’26G presided over the unraveling of the RPI Players as they were put on probation for the second time this semester. RPI Cricket Club got a starter budget, the Club Operations Committee got their own constitution, and Katie Bates ’26 got appointed as UPAC Chairperson.

6 pm on March 28 was a popular time slot for many student events across campus. A rock and blues concert took place in the McNeil room while a retro game showcase took place in Sage Laboratory.
