Engineers drop the ball to Brewers

Consistent point production kept Vassar dominant in their matchup against Rensselaer, maintaining control of the net both up close and from afar. After outscoring them 35-26 in the first half, the Brewers maintained offensive dominance and ran off with victory.
The Brewers kept up a formidable presence on the 3-point line, shooting a .476 percentage compared to the Engineers’ .188. Shea Fitzgerald, highest scorer for Vassar in the game, netted fifteen on his eighteen total points from three-pointers. In total, Vassar scored ten times this way, accounting for about half of their points.
Vassar also led in free throws during both halves of the game, shooting a .800 percentage during each. The Engineers made half of their shots from the line in the first half and fared only slightly better in the second half.
The highest scorer for the Engineers was Andrew Deppe, who made his living off of layups in close quarters to amass 14 points for the team. Him and PJ Scalisi were the only Engineers to crack ten points in the game. Despite playing for just half the time, Yechiel Stewart also added five points to the Rensselaer total, outscoring half of the starting lineup.
With this game, Rensselaer and Vassar both have a 12-4 record in the Liberty League. Rensselaer will have to win at least one of their upcoming games against Clarkson or St. Lawrence in order to guarantee them the top seed for the playoffs.
