New E-Board members selected

PU gives brief background on each selected applicant

Hey RPI! First, I would like to thank each and every person who applied to be on the Executive Board. This year, I had 40 applicants to fill 11 positions. For those of you who were not selected this year, please stay involved; you can make such a huge difference serving on the committees and I can’t wait to work with all of you this year.

Second, I would like to introduce all of you to your newly appointed executive board members!

I have selected six returning members: Charles “Kirk” Bittner ’15 is currently a junior aeronautical engineer from Coventry, C.T. He has been an active member in many clubs, such as the Pep Band, the RPI Flying Club, the RPI Players, and UPAC Lights.

Colin Fortuner ’15 is currently a junior computer science/management major from Litchfield, C.T. He is a member of the Epsilon Delta Sigma Honor Society, and is a former RPI varsity lacrosse player.

Chaz Goodwine ’15 is currently pursuing his Ph.D. in Chemical Engineering. He has been involved all over campus, including being a brother of the Friends of Folsom Library Board, Greek Spectrum, LGBTQ Mentoring Network, LGBTQ Task Force, Phalanx Honor Society, Rensselaer Pride alliance, Safe Zone, and Sigma Chi Fraternity.

Joyce Lui ’16 is a sophomore majoring in industrial management engineering from Chelmsford, Mass. She was a Class of 2016 representative, and has been involved in Alpha Phi, Engineers for a Sustainable World, Ski and Snowboard Club, and the Women’s Mentor Program.

Eric Ray ’15 is a junior industrial management engineering major from Miami F.L. He is a brother of Delta Tau Delta and has been involved in the Archery club, Fencing club, and Greek Spectrum.

Erica Hutchins ’15 is currently a junior majoring in aeronautical and mechanical engineering from Poughkeepsie, N.Y. This will be her third year on the board! Heavily involved in Greek life, she is a sister of Alpha Phi, and is currently the president of the Panhellenic Association.

I have selected five new members: Yi Lin Chen ’15 is currently a junior management and psychology dual major from Manlius, N.Y. She has been involved with the Epsilon Delta Sigma, Women’s Mentor Program, and UPAC lights. In her spare time, she volunteers through hospitals and clinics in Syracuse, N.Y.

Emily Farella ’16 is currently a sophomore dual mechanical engineering/Design, Innovation, and Society major from Long Island, N.Y. She was the chairman of the Marketing, Advertising, and Publicity Committee, and the chairman of UPAC. She is involved in the Newman Catholic Fellowship and a member of the 125th Anniversary Committee for the Union.

Colton Fisher is currently a coterminal student getting his M.E. in systems engineering and technology management from Brookhaven, P.A. He has been a member of the RPI Flying Club; he works for the office of Chief Technology Officer for the state of N.Y., and as the entertainment chairman for the Thiers Memorial Fly-in.

Alex Glover ’16 is currently a sophomore from Algonquin, Ill. studying mechanical engineering. He is involved in Pi Tau Sigma, is a former RPI varsity men’s basketball team, and was a member of the Liberty League Winter All-Academic Team.

Spencer Norris ’17 is currently a freshman studying computer and systems engineering and computer science from Dallas, P.A. He was the Policies Committee chairman last semester and is involved in RPI Computer Security Club in addition to being a brother of Pi Kappa Phi.

There are still four more board members to be added. One seat is saved for a member of the class of 2018, and the three delegated positions will hopefully be decided upon before the end of the semester. Thank you to everyone who applied and I look forward to all that we may accomplish in the upcoming year.
