PSS: fortifying world records

ON SATURDAY, APRIL 20, A GROUP OF MORE THAN 100 STUDENTS BROKE the world record for the number of cardboard boxes used in a box-fort. With a total of over 2,300 boxes, they more than doubled the previous record of 1,130 boxes, held by Vermont’s Middlebury College. However, this was below their expected count of 2,600 boxes. In an effort to bring awareness to Earth Day, the group recycled every box after the fort was built and the record was broken. According to The Troy Record , “Alongside the construction site, tables with hot coffee and tea, along with 400 donated hot dogs provided fuel for the ad-hoc crew bent on breaking a world record.”
