PSS: sing it for the world, sing it for the world

MAUREEN NEWMAN ’13 (CENTER) PLAYS the flute in the Rensselaer Music Association’s Symphonic Band this past Saturday as part of RMA’s Annual Winter Concert. The event was held in the main concert hall of the Experimental Media and Performing Arts Center. The Percussion Ensemble and Symphony Orchestra also performed in the concert. The Percussion Ensemble performed two pieces: El Gusanito, originally composed by O. Lechuga; and Suite Popular Brasiliera, composed by N. Rosauro. The Symphony Orchestra performed three pieces, one of which was comprised of selections from the popular Nutcracker Suite and another the well-known Sleigh Ride by Leroy Anderson. The concert was topped off by the Symphonic Band’s four piece performance. One of the selections, The Eighth Candle, was conducted by graduate student Benjamin Wolf.
