The Interfraternity Council held its weekly meeting on October 14. The meeting provided updates on different projects and plans to transition from the current executive board to the newly elected board. Additionally, the meeting closed nominations for IFC executive board positions with many nominations.
President Jesse Barr ’10 is in the process of trying to get in touch with Vice President for Student Life Eddie Ade Knowles to discuss the Greek Commons assignment. He is also working with the Panhellenic Council to ensure that the concerns of the IFC are kept in mind.
Executive Vice President Michael Lind ’10 is in the process of completing a transition plan for shepherding in newly elected officials in order to provide a smoother transition from the old to the new board.
Vice President of Recruitment Demetri Karanikos ’11 reminded delegates that signed bids should be submitted to the Dean of Students Office.
Vice President of Social Ryan Koehler ’11 announced that there will be an upcoming Greek Hockey Night on November 7 and a Greek Winter Carnival on November 6.
Vice President of Philanthropy Ken Hutchison ’11 announced some upcoming service opportunities for houses to get more involved. The IFC will also be co-sponsoring a Halloween Parade on October 31, and there will be another opportunity for houses to set up activity booths.
Vice President of Risk Management Drew Fineberg ’11 is in the process of finalizing a Risk Management Manual, and it should be completed by the time the executive board will be transitioned.
Vice President of Public Relations Josh Seldin ’11 made a final request for volunteers for the Open House at EMPAC last Saturday.
The Office of Fraternity and Sorority Affairs Representative Richard Morris ’09 reminded delegates that the Greek 101 program for new members would be on October 17, from 9 am to 12:30 pm in West Hall.
