Northern Lights hosts War Sucks Let’s Party, Anti-Flag, Alexisonfire, Big D and the Kids Table, and Set Your Goods at 7 pm. Tickets cost $14 in advance or $15 on the day of the show.

Union College sponsors pianist Julia Fischer and violinist Milana Chernyavska at 8 pm. Fischer and Chernyavska will perform classical works by Schubert, Debussy, Bach, and Mendelssohn. Tickets cost $20.

Russell Sage College features bass player Linda Brown and vibraphone player Bill Jensen at 12 pm. Brown and Jensen will be performing jazz music at 45 Ferry Street in Troy. Admission is free.

The State Museum presents the Nat Phipps Trio at 2 pm. Pianist Phipps will perform with his jazz group. There is no cost to attend.

Norma Jean, The Chariot, A Life Once Lost, and The Handshake Murders perform at Northern Lights. The concert starts at 7 pm. Tickets cost $12 in advance or $14 on the day of the show.

WAMC sponsors gothic rock band Rasputina at the Linda Norris Auditorium. The band is well-known for its cello-specialized pieces as well as its wide variety of costumes. The event begins at 8 pm. Tickets cost $18.

Troy Savings Bank Music Hall hosts Veena Chandra at 12 pm. Chandra will be performing classical Hindustani raga on the sitar. Admission is free.

The Egg presents Sean Lennon at 7 pm. Lennon is one of today’s popular indie-rock artists and has released his “Friendly Fire” record. Opening the show are folk rockers Women and Children and singer Kamila Thompson. Tickets cost $24.

Proctor’s Theatre sponsors RENT at 8 pm from Wednesday, April 10 to Thursday, April 12. Winner of the Pulitzer Prize and the Tony Award for best musical, RENT tells the story of various characters surviving in New York City’s East Village. The musical contains mature content.
