Ground Zero Basement, in collaboration with WRPI and the Ski and Snowboard Club, held the Touch Grass Music Festival last Saturday outside the Rensselaer Union. The lineup for the show featured many of GZ Basement’s regular performers, including Battle of the Bands first and third place winners Totally Confused and Pseudosky.

Also performing were local bands The Bear Necessities, Dirty Work, Mall Goth, Habitat for Waterfowl, Stella and the Reptilians, and RPI a cappella group Duly Noted. At an outdoor venue, students and passersby were invited to sit outside the Union and mingle as the festival went late into the night.

Additionally, over 40 clubs and vendors set up booths outside on the Union terrace. Homemade pottery, amigurumi, chainmail, and more were available for purchase or window shopping, all within listening distance of the main stage. Food was served courtesy of Alpha Chi Rho, the Muslim Students’ Association, and others, for a pleasant picnicking experience.
The Touch Grass Music Festival was a pleasant time and an exciting prospect for a new spring tradition at RPI.
