The 3rd Annual Ground Zero Talent Show begins at 7 pm in the basement of Nugent. All proceeds will benefit VH-1’s Save the Music. Tickets are $3 and the event is open to all.

Proctors Theatre presents the Schenectady Symphony Orchestra in concert beginning at 10 am. This event costs $5 and tickets are currently available.

Proctors Theatre brings Carrot Top to the stage once again. This show guarantees to excite and stir the audience. This red-headed comedian has become one of the leading entertainers in the country. Tickets are currently on sale for $19.50, and the show begins at 8 pm.

Troy Savings Bank presents the Albany Symphony Orchestra in concert. The event begins at 8 pm, and tickets begin at $19.

UPAC Mother’s hosts musician Bet Williams. This event begins at 8 pm in Mother’s Wine Emporium. General tickets and $7, and admission is free with RPI student ID.

VH1 Classics presents singer/composer Glenn Tilbrook and The Fluffers in concert at Revolution Hall in Albany. This concert is open to individuals 18 years and over and begins at 9 pm.

The Egg brings Laugh Out Loud, Albany’s first comedy/rock show, featuring Craig Gass from the Howard Stern show, Jesse Joyce, Greg Aidala, and music by Super 400. The show starts at 8 pm and admission is $20.

Renowned bluegrass artist Tim O’Brien and Chris Smither perform at The Egg. Come and enjoy these two artists, as they sing famous and newly released songs. Tickets are now on sale for $22 and the concert begins at 7 pm

The 2nd annual Game Symposium begins at 2 pm in West Hall Auditorium and concludes at 5 pm. It features John Buchanan, Jesse Schell from Carnegie Mellon, and Ken Perlin from NYU. The Game Festival, which has over 70 students presenting their work, will begin at 6 pm in the Great Hall of the DCC. This event is free and open to all.

Dr. Linda McGown lectures as part of Origins of Life Seminar. It begins at 4 pm in CII 3051. Admission is free and open to the public.

The 7th annual celebration of Community Service Day has arrived. The festivities will span six days and incorporate various projects involving the surrounding community and RPI campus. The Office of First Year Experience and iPAC sponsor American Red Cross’s Blood Drive. Blood donations begin at 11:30 am in the Mueller Center.

The Henry Hudson Planetarium offers viewing of amazing images of distant galaxies and stars in our own galaxy from the Hubble telescope. Entitled “A Day Space With the Hubble Telescope,” this event begins at 2 pm and admission is $2.

EarthFest features a “Sustainable Technology Fair” from 1-6 pm in the Rensselaer Union. This event includes speakers and exhibits from many environmental organizations. Admission is free and open to the public.
