Caffe Lena holds the Battlefield Band. This group starts playing at 7 pm and the cost is $22.
The Egg presents Alonzo King’s Lines Ballet: “Before the Blues.” With their brilliant dancers and unusual collaborations, this San Francisco company livens up the stage with their jazz. Event begins at 8 pm and prices $24 for adults, $20 for seniors, and $12 for children.
Revolution Hall hosts the band Project/Object which will perform music of Frank Zappa. This show starts at 8 pm, and is 18 and over. The pre-order tickets are $15 and $17 at the door.
RPI alumni Jenn and Kevin McCoy, video/installation artists, lecture on “Learning to Watch.” They will discuss their work with video and the creation of meaning. This event is in West Hall Auditorium from 7:30-9 pm. General admission is $5 and free for those with a RPI ID.
B.B. King plays at the Palace Theatre. This legendary blues guitarist and singer comes to town. His opening act is a local favorite, Ernie Williams. Show begins at 7:30 pm with tickets starting at $39.50.
The RPI Ballroom gives a dance for all. Come and dance latin, swing, waltz for a couple of hours in ’87 Gym from 7-10 pm.

The C+CC presents David Yezzi and Ben Downing. They will perform contemporary poetry throughout the night. Admission is free though donations are accepted. This evening of poetry is 7-9 pm at the C+CC.
A Lunch & Learn event is being held by Dr. Merritt Abrash of the Emeriti Cultural Study will present “Utopian Students.” It is held in the Folsom Library Fischbach Room from 12–1 pm. It is open to everyone.

Mother’s Wine Emporium presents Aoife Clancy. Her refreshing folk music that ranges from traditional Irish songs to beautiful ballads to contemporary folk will be a joy to hear. This event starts at 7:30 pm, and tickets are free with RPI ID and $7 for general admission.
The Pepsi Arena holds The Albany Auto Show. This is the area’s largest auto event. The show will be on exhibition from April 8-10. Tickets are $7 for adults and free for children under 12 with an adult admission.
Pizza with the President happens at Mother’s. Come meet and pose questions to President Jackson from 12-1:30 pm.
The RPI Players act out the musical Man of La Mancha. They will be singing away every night for the next two weekends. The performances on April 8, 9, 14, 15, and 16 start at 8 pm and the April 10 showing begins at 2 pm. Tickets are $5 with RPI ID, $8 for seniors, and $10 for general admission. The Rensselaer Music Association holds a Tsunami Relief Benefit Concert. RPI Percussion Ensemble,Symphonic Band, Jazz Ensemble, Campus Serenaders, and the Rusty Pipes will be performing for the crowd. This benefit happens from 1-3 pm at the Troy Savings Bank Music Hall. Admission is free though donations are welcome.

Mark Cohen, Distinguished Engineer of IBM, talks about the history of the ThinkPad and ThinkCentre design. He will also speak about future technology trends and directions as the Think Team transitions to Lenovo in his lecture “Think Design: Past and Future.” All are welcome to come and see him in Sage 3303 from 4-5 pm.
