The National Society of Black Engineers presents a Gospel Expo in the McNeil Room of the Union from 6:30 to 8 pm. Gospel singers and choirs from all over the area will be performing.

“Non-Violence in the Face of War” will be presented as part of Diversity Week by Institute Diversity and the First-Year Experience. A panel will give perspectives on Jewish, Christian, and Islamic interpretations of non-violence and the actions of a Conscientious Objector at 8 pm in the McNeil Room.

The Black Student Alliance present “Speak Out,” an open mic night in Mother’s at 8 pm. Participants are encouraged to perform works that celebrate the life, works, and legacy of Martin Luther King, Jr.

The Capital Repertory Theatre will present the opening night performance of “Times Like These,” a story of two Jewish actors caught in 1930s Germany. The performance begins at 7:30 pm.

Mozart’s opera Don Giovanni is performed by the Mozart Festival Opera at Schenectady Proctors Theatre at 8 pm. The opera tells the story of Don Juan, a high-libido lecher of the 1600s.

Ed Helms of The Daily Show will offer comedic political observations at 7 pm in West Hall Auditorium. Tickets are required, and can be picked up in the Office of the First-Year Experience in Academy Hall.

The Chapel and Cultural Center presents the Kamikaze Hearts with Gay Tastee and the Kalashnikov Choir at 8 pm. The band will present “front porch music” concerning the long winters of Upstate New York.

.38 Special performs at 7:30 pm at Northern Lights in Clifton Park. The blues-rock band will perform songs from its new album “Drivetrain” as well as others from its two-decade history.

Choreographer Ellen Sinopoli and musician Don Byron celebrate the works of Leonard Bernstein with dances set to new arrangements of the composer’s music at Albany’s The Egg at 8 pm. Tickets are $22 for adults, $11 for children, and $18 for seniors.

Lee Blessing’s “A Walk in the Woods” is presented by the Capital Repertory Theatre at 8 pm. The play tells the story of an American and a Russian who meet at the height of the Cold War and develop an understanding and friendship.

The Community Advocates present the second annual Cultural Fest at 8 pm in the McNeil Room. The event will feature free food, games, a raffle, crafts, and music by RootsRockSociety.

The Egg continues its celebration of Leonard Bernstein with a showing of West Side Story at 7 pm. Free tickets are required.

The Empire State Youth Orchestra and Jamie Bernstein perform “The Bernstein Beat,” a collection of Leonard Bernstein’s compositions, at 3 pm at The Egg in Albany. Tickets at $12 for adults and $8 for children.
