To the Editor:
In response to previous letters that have been written to the editor about the Red Army, we would like to voice our opinions on this issue that has unfortunately caused some tension among our loyal fans.
First off, as this year’s hockey captains, we would like to thank all of our fans for their incredible support at the start of this year’s hockey season. Your support has not gone unnoticed, as it is very encouraging to play in front of so many enthusiastic fans each weekend.
We realize that some fans recently have voiced their displeasure of the newly formed Red Army on their choice to stand at the hockey games. Although this makes it difficult for some to watch the game, we are grateful for the effort and school spirit the Red Army has put forth so far this year. As a team, we feel that the Red Army and the rest of our fans create a fierce atmosphere that any opposing team will dread.
We are grateful to all of our loyal fans who have stuck with us through the good times and the bad. Although some of you have different opinions on how to support your team, we hope that you can join forces and continue to make the Houston Field House one of the best places to watch and play college hockey in the country.
We appreciate everyone’s support and look forward to seeing you at the Houston Field House for the exciting new era of RPI hockey.
