The Panhellenic Council here at RPI would like to take this opportunity to welcome everyone back for the Fall 2006 semester. For those who are unfamiliar with the Panhellenic Council, I would like to give you some background on who we are. We represent and are the governing body over the sororities on this campus. We exist to develop and maintain greek life and interfraternal relations as well as to promote superior scholarship, leadership, philanthropy, and the distribution of information that is important to women.
The RPI Panhellenic Council is pleased to announce that recruitment, also referred to as rush, will be beginning on September 5, and continuing through September 24. Rush is a great opportunity to meet and familiarize yourself with the greek organizations on this campus. The fraternities and sororities of RPI have worked hard over the summer to plan fun and interesting events to provide students with the opportunity to get to know the greek community.
The first recruitment event hosted by the Panhellenic Council was a dessert rotational held on September 5 in Mother’s in the Union from 7-9 pm. Each house prepared a wide variety of delicious desserts ranging from cookies to caramel apples. The second Panhellenic recruitment event is a philanthropy rotational on September 7 from 5-7 pm. This event will be a great opportunity to visit each of the chapter houses of this campus, and learn about each sorority’s philanthropic work.
We encourage the unaffiliated and freshmen women of this campus to come to these events and learn more about greek life.
