During GM week, several greek organizations will be hosting their philanthropic events. On Friday, the sisters of Alpha Gamma Delta will be hosting a 24-hour volleyball tournament to kick off GM week. Money raised will go toward the Alpha Gamma Delta Foundation for Juvenile Diabetes. Also on Friday, Phi Iota Alpha is hosting a basketball tournament. Panhel’s “Singled Out,” is a new event on Monday that is based off an old MTV show, where male contestants are eliminated based on answers they provide to the three main female contestants. All money raised from the event will go toward the Make-a-Wish Foundation for Northeastern New York.
On Tuesday, Sigma Alpha Epsilon’s 24-hour “Soccer-a-thon” will be raising money for the Children’s Miracle Network. During the day, Alpha Phi and the Rensselaer Society of Engineers are holding the “Teeter Totter-a-Thon” benefiting the Big Brothers and Big Sisters of the Capital Region. That evening, the sisters of Pi Beta Phi will once again be holding their “Mr. RPI contest.” Wednesday morning, Pi Kappa Alpha is hosting their dodgeball tournament, and that evening, Pi Lambda Phi is hosting their “Ms. RPI contest.”
All of these events attract many participants and large audiences from the campus. Please help out in any way you can so that they can provide the assistance that their philanthropies need.
