To the Editor:

While it’s great that Go Be Red is bringing some new cheering sections to hockey games, and even unearthing old cheers, it would be really nice if they learned the words to our fight song. Yes, RPI has a fight song (it’s what plays when we score a goal and when the Engineers take the ice) and it does have words. And to the GBR team in Section 33, the words are not “Hail, dear old Rensselaer, blah blah blah blah blah blaaaah.”

Hail, Dear Old Rensselaer

Hail, dear old Rensselaer, the college of our heart.

For dear old Rensselaer, we all must do our part.

True to old Rensselaer, we’ll always strive to be.

Now, dear old Rensselaer, hail to thee.

Hear the tramp, tramp, tramp of marching feet.

Hear the rat-tat-tat of drums that beat.

Hear the voices ringing loud and sweet.

Hear that mighty shout of...

Hail, dear old Rensselaer, the college of our heart.

For dear old Rensselaer, we all must do our part.

True to old Rensselaer, we’ll always strive to be.

Now, dear old Rensselaer, hail to thee.
