To the Editor:

On the morning of Wednesday Dec. 22nd, I parked along 15th Street and completely forgot to pay the parking meter. I realized this only after I spent two hours on campus and in the Union. In a mad dash outside hoping to not have received a parking ticket, I arrived at my car and discovered a surprise. Not only did I not have a ticket, my meter showed over an hour and a half of time left on it. I quickly surveyed the rest of the meters around mine and all along 15th street. All the meters showed the exact same scenario, each had more than an hour remaining on them.

I have absolutely no clue to whom this act of kindness can be attributed, possibly a member of RPI’s community, a citizen of Troy, or conceivably even the parking enforcement officers themselves. Thus to whomever you are, I’d just like to let you know that your generosity was in fact noticed and would like to thank you on behalf of everyone who parks on 15th Street and elsewhere in Troy.
