Hey everyone, how’s test week going? Yes, it’s that time of the year, when every class you have decides to give its first test during this week. I don’t know why, but I think it is a coordinated effort to keep us all from enjoying our long holiday weekend.

Don’t let this week get you down or keep you inside studying all the time. You should all take a break every now and then. There is still plenty to do on campus, and, if you don’t already, it’s usually not too late to get involved. I’ve heard the “there’s nothing to do” complaint many times here, but that’s just not true. There are new signs for clubs, activities, and events posted every week all over campus. With just a little effort, you can probably find something you’ll like. If, for some reason, there really is nothing that piques your interest on campus, then why not start a new club that does?

Yes, you can do that.

If that seems like too much time or more effort than you can afford, then talk to clubs with similar interests and bring up your idea with them. Many clubs are looking for new activities to do during the year anyway. Even your class council is open to suggestions on what activities they should plan. Let them know what you want, or send me an e-mail at uc@rpi.edu and I’ll pass the ideas on to them for you.

Good luck, and don’t study too hard! I hope your test week (or weeks) is going well. Remember—this is just some good practice for finals.
