Homecoming is upon us. It is the return of a time-honored tradition to the RPI campus that we can all participate in. The Independent Council will be commemorating the return of Homecoming by holding an open games room night on tonight. From 7-11 pm, the entire Games Room in the Union will be open and free to all who wish to attend, courtesy of the Independent Council. Stop by for some fun, free games, and to meet some of us who represent you. Be sure to check out all the events during the coming week. Homecoming is an important tradition to return to this campus and one that is intended to bring about a sense of unity and pride in our school. Enjoy the events this week.
I’d like to congratulate all the newly elected freshman student leaders, from the Independent Council to the Student Senate. The elections have brought forth many new student leaders. It will be a privilege to be able to work with all of you and I wish you the best of luck.
Throughout the semester, the IC will be working on many projects. From our new feedback campaign to joint charity efforts with the Panhellenic Council, the IC is looking to make this campus a better place. We can not do this alone, we need your help. Tell us what needs to be changed on this campus; what are your concerns as independent students? We meet on Tuesdays at 9 pm in the Student Government Suite. Our meetings are open to all who wish to attend. There are still seats open for most classes, including the graduate class. Feel free to e-mail us with any comments or concerns at ic@union.rpi.edu.
