This weekend is the perfect opportunity to cheer on our athletic teams. This Friday will be our first annual “Black Friday,” when the men’s hockey team will take on Vermont at 7 pm, the first ECAC game of the season. Fans are encouraged to dress in black, as the entire hockey team will wear black jerseys. The following day, the football team will play against Hobart at 1 pm. The football team has remained undefeated, 8-0, and Saturday will be its last game of the season. The RPI swim team will compete against Vassar on Saturday, and the women’s hockey team will also be competing home, against MIT at 3 pm, in addition to Sunday’s game versus Clarkson at 2 pm.
The Student Union will be presenting RUFest ’03 this Friday, in preparation for a weekend of fierce sports competition. On Friday, be sure to check out this event, which will host food, prizes, games, and sales throughout the Union. The festivities will include:
• A 20 percent discount at the Bookstore: on a special selection of black RPI t-shirts, sweatshirts, hats, and jackets to wear to the games.
• Black Friday RUFest Pre-Game Italian Fest Dinner: includes pasta, chicken parm, eggplant parm, garlic bread, and a beverage. The dinner will be from 4:30 to 7 pm in the Rathskellar, and tickets may be purchased for $5.99, or given free upon purchasing a black hooded RPI sweatshirt from the bookstore.
