Hello everyone, I would like to use this time to encourage you to become involved with the Student Union Executive Board. There are currently open positions on the E-Board that you may still apply for. Stop by the Administrative Office for an application, or contact me for more information and to set up a time to discuss your interests. I’d also like to extend an offer for anyone interested to join the E-Board committees. There are six committees that I am looking for a few people to be a part of each. Here is a brief explanation of them:
Constitution Committee: This committee is responsible for setting requirements for constitutions and bylaws of affiliated and funded activities, reviewing these documents, and changing them when deemed necessary. Members also assist new clubs with defining their club purpose and writing their starter constitution.
Budget Committee: Members investigate and make recommendations to the E-Board on budget issues facing the Union. The committee is responsible for setting all budget procedures, subject to E-Board approval. They also provide input and review on the the budget of the Administration Office. In addition, they work with the system administrators and the Technology Committee to implement an improved, interactive budgeting system.
Building Committee: Members deal with all aspects of the building concerning physical facilities of the Union. This committee will include projects to “personalize” the Union this year.
Marketing Committee: This committee is responsible for marketing the Union and all of its activities, functions, and organizations to the RPI community. Members also assist clubs and organizations in event promotion and membership recruitment. They develop policies and advise organizations regarding programs and activities.
Rensselaer Union Business Operations Committee: The committee works with all of the Union’s business operations, including the Union food service, bookstore, games room, and Father’s. They will make recommendations to improve services and act upon student’s suggestions.
Technology Committee: This committee will tackle issues related to the Union website, the E-Board website, and assist the system administrators regarding Union servers, wireless internet, and the newly proposed budgeting system.

As a reminder, the E-Board meets weekly on Wednesday nights at 7 pm. The entire E-Board may be reached by e-mail at eboard@union.rpi.edu. Our meetings are always open to anyone who would like to attend.
