As this semester draws to a close, it becomes increasingly easier to forget about the work that has to be done. Granted, all that’s left at this point are finals and last bits of projects, but it’s important to keep going strong right through to the end of the semester. These last projects tend to carry a lot of weight, and it would be unwise to let them fall to the wayside. While it is tempting to go outside and enjoy the beautiful weather or to play games, the summer is not quite upon us and so we have to wait it out.

Once the summer has finally started there will be plenty of time to have fun and enjoy the weather. Everyone on campus has earned a break from the insanity that marks the spring semester. Summer is a time where we get to rest up and prepare for the fall semester. Take advantage of this time.

Beyond that, though, be responsible and safe over the summer. The dangers of drinking and driving don’t decrease just because you’re on vacation. Make sure you have a designated driver when you go out drinking. Also, think carefully before committing to some risky behaviors that may cost you your life. It is possible to have fun without a high likelihood of destroying your life.

With that said, the staff of The Polytechnic would like to wish you all good luck on your finals, and hopes you all have a safe and relaxing summer.
