I want to begin by thanking all those who have shown interest in student government this year. The enthusiasm and aspiration to be involved in elections and later the Executive Board was very impressive throughout the year. With the end of the year now here, the final E-Board appointments will be made at tonight’s Senate meeting. I would like to remind everyone that both student bodies have committees or project groups, in which students may participate in, without being an actual voting member of the boards. This opportunity will allow you to represent your voice directly and play a role in improving student life. If you would like more information on how to further contribute, you may direct e-mails to pu@rpi.edu, or stop by the GM/PU Office in the Student Government Suite.

The incoming E-Board will kick off next semester with a strong orientation in order to bring together each member as one body. I would like to define our goals for the semester and push the board to its highest abilities. We will gather student opinions to be sure that our goals agree with those of the entire Rensselaer community. The E-Board will work closely with clubs to set forth our objectives for the school year and represent them to our best ability. Developing good relations between E-Board reps and their clubs is continuously important throughout the year.

I would like to thank the members of this year’s E-Board in their efforts these past few weeks. They accomplished the last rush of E-Board business matters in the midst of a demanding academic time. In addition, congratulations to the Class of 2003. I wish you the best of luck as you move forth into your future careers. Good luck to all with finals week and be sure to enjoy your summer!
