Hello everyone. I hope you all survived your first week and a half back from spring break and your brain has switched back to study mode. The warm weather has finally returned, and spring is officially here, so remember to get outside and enjoy it.
The current war in Iraq is something that I believe is on everyone’s mind these days and certainly is a topic of discussion. Whether you support the ideals of the ongoing events or not, I ask that everyone unite as a community and pray for the speedy and safe return of our men and women in service.
Our spring athletic teams are quickly getting into the full swing of things and I encourage everyone to go out and support our athletes. Many teams have their home openers this week, including the baseball, softball, and the men’s and women’s lacrosse teams. Both the men’s lacrosse and baseball team are off to a hot start, and there’s no better way to spend a beautiful day outside than cheering on our teams. For more details on team schedules, check out the newly re-vamped Rensselaer Athletics website at http://www.rpi.edu/dept/athletics/.
The 2003-2004 Rensselaer Student Activity Fee Packet has been completed by the Activity Fee Subcommittee and was submitted to the Student Senate as well as the President this week. The document is expected to be voted on at next week’s meeting, thus setting the Activity Fee for the 2003-2004 academic year. This information is, of course, available to all Rensselaer students, so if you would like a copy of the packet, you are welcome to one. The Activity Fee Packets are available through the Administration Office of the Union.
As always, everyone is welcome to attend Executive Board meetings, which are held on Thursdays at 7:30 pm in the Patroon Room of the Union. Please feel free to send me any questions or comments to pu@rpi.edu, call 276-8598, or stop by my office in Union Room 3136.
