I would like to respond to the letter in the March 5 issue of The Poly by the misguided gentleman from the Class of 2003. First, I wish to thank and congratulate the V-Day committee for their efforts. I sincerely hope their efforts are causing others to think over important social issues. I would like to remind said gentleman that art can involve nudity without maligning the human body. Might I also remind him that according to page 19 of the RPI Student Handbook, publicly viewing pornography is against school policy, as is the making of lewd comments. These actions make it difficult to believe that he wants “to make RPI a welcoming place to grow and learn.”
