Hello everyone. The month of February has flown by and as you’re cramming for tests and finish projects, remember that spring break is less than two weeks away.
The Executive Board resumed its regular business meetings this past week and a full agenda was waiting. The Constitution Committee of the E-Board brought forth six new clubs for approval: the Rensselaer Film Club, the Chess Club, the Association for Indian Development, RPI Creative Problem Solving, the Entrepreneurship Club, and SOLID. For more information on these new clubs or their meeting times stop by the Administration Office of the Union. The other item on this past week’s agenda was a proposal from the Asian Awareness Weekend Committee. The committee requested starter money to sponsor a Ms. and Mr. Asian RPI. The winners of each contest will be spokesmen for Asian Awareness Weekend. The contest will be held February 27 in the DCC.
If you are looking for something to do this Saturday, the Union will be sponsoring UPAC Showcase at 8 pm in the McNeil Room. Like the UPAC Showcase of the fall, there will be a comedy, short films, and music for your entertainment. This is a great combined event on the part of our UPAC organizations, and I hope you’ll attend and have some fun.
If you plan on running for President of the Union or have questions about the E-Board, I strongly urge you to contact me to have a discussion. As always everyone is welcome to attend E-Board meetings, which are held on Thursdays at 7:30 pm in the Patroon Room of the Union. Please feel free to send questions or comments to pu@rpi.edu or call 276-8598 or stop by the office in Union Room 3136.
