Hello everyone. I hope everyone is hanging tough with their classes and maybe even got some leads for a job at the career fair over the weekend. If you are buried with work, don’t worry because the long weekend is quickly approaching.

I would first like to recognize our athletic teams and athletes that have been absolutely impressive this year. The women’s soccer team won this past Sunday to continue their spectacular undefeated season. The team is currently 7-0 and is playing at the top of their game. The women’s soccer team has two tough away games this week, but make sure to come support the team next week when they return home. The football team also continued their undefeated season this past weekend with a victory over Rochester. The team scored twenty-four unanswered points in the second half to get the victory. This week the football team plays at Union—it’s going be a great game, so take the 10 minute ride on over to Union and support our team to victory.

The Executive Board had a very busy meeting this past week with several business proposals brought before the board, one of which involved the paintball club that officially became a Union club last year. Paintball is a fast growing sport nationwide and the Union is happy to be able to offer it to students. If you are interested in joining the paintball club or competing in competitions on the tournament team, you can get more information by contacting their president Ryan Greenblatt at greenr@rpi.edu.

It is an exciting time as the E-Board is tackling new issues and working to improve the Union for students. The committees of the E-Board are now in their project planning stage as I work with them to set project timelines and status checkpoints. I’ve chosen to highlight the Building Committee to give you an idea of what our committees are working on. The Building Committee will be working hard this year to utilize the space of the Union to better advertise ongoing events, activities, and athletics. The Union is also the building that houses our elected student government, and we will be looking for ways to familiarize everyone with these individuals. The committee has established these as a few objectives and it will also be working to gain student feedback to better improve the services and atmosphere of the Union as a whole.

As always, everyone is welcome to attend Executive Board meetings, which are held on Wednesdays at 7:30 pm in the Patroon Room of the Union. Please feel free to send me any questions or comments at pu@rpi.edu and x8598 or stop by the office in the Union 3136.
