After three great weeks of sorority recruitment, we can proudly say we have found some of the best women on campus and have made them part of the greek system. I’d like to welcome all 28 girls who got formal bids to the greek system as well as encourage the rest of you who feel that maybe you should have rushed to visit the houses. There is still the possibility to get a bid even though formal rush is over. With our incoming rushees, we hope to see continued improvement of the Panhellenic system.
The greek system at Rensselaer in the past has been known for great accomplishments as well as providing many of the leaders on campus. On a larger scale, not only was the Institute president greek, but so were many of the nation’s great leaders. I am thrilled that so many women have decided to join, and hope you enjoy being part of such a heritage of greatness.
We are also gearing up for a great semester, including several women’s programming events and continued emphasis on philanthropy and scholarship. The Panhel Executive Board has all set their semester goals and there is still more improvement to come. If any of you have more ideas you think should be implemented in the greek system, please don’t hesitate to tell anyone on the Panhel or IFC Executive Boards. So, keep your eyes open for great things this semester, both from the current members and our wonderful new members.
