I hope everyone enjoyed the first week of classes and is beginning to get back into the swing of things. I would like to thank everyone who worked hard to make the Activities Fair a success last week. If you were unable to attend, you can always check out the Union webpage for more information about the clubs and organizations that the Union sponsors at http://union.rpi.edu.

Next Wednesday the Institute will remember September 11 with a ceremony in the Armory from 10 am-noon. I would like to invite all students and faculty to attend and take this time to reflect.

If you are looking for something to do during the week, UPAC Cinema will be showing movies on Wednesdays, Fridays, and Saturdays in the DCC. Movie times and listings are posted in the DCC and on the UPAC Cinema’s web page at http://cinema.union.rpi.edu. UPAC Concerts is presenting the Counting Crows on October 4 at the Houston Field House. A limited number of discounted tickets are available to RPI students, but they are going fast, so get them soon!

The Executive Board will be getting started this week with our formal orientation this weekend. There are still open positions available for E-Board representatives and I encourage those interested to apply. Applications are available in the Union Administration office. If you would like more information or if you have any questions you can e-mail me at pu@rpi.edu.

The Executive Board will have its first meeting of the year on September 11 at 7 pm in the Patroon Room. This will be the regular meeting time throughout the semester and all students are welcome. If you have any questions or comments please feel free to contact me at pu@rpi.edu or x8598.
