These last few weeks have been a busy time for all of us. I would like to congratulate each of you for making it through the first half of the fall semester. Between the papers, projects, homework, and midterms, many students seem to be just plain burned out. So take a deep breath and find some activity to relax you. Spend time with members of your chapter and other friends and find a little fun.

I think many of you would disagree that there are few opportunities for fun on RPI’s campus. Okay, so I know RPI isn’t exactly the activity center of the Northeast, but there are many events on campus that each student can take advantage of. Students can enjoy weekly activities such as UPAC movies or bowling and pool in the Union, just to name a few. Once in a while, special opportunities for a good time do arise.

Panhel will soon be offering an event for your enjoyment. The Panhel Lip Sync will be on Friday, November 2, at 7 pm in DCC 318. The Panhellenic Council sponsors this event every fall. For those of you who haven’t had the opportunity to attend in the past, I would recommend checking it out this year. It is scheduled as a part of Rensselaer’s Family Weekend, and everyone including parents and family members are invited to attend this event, so why not go? The admission fee is $4 normally or $1 if you come wearing letters.

So what exactly happens at the Lip Sync? During this event, many of the campus’s greek chapters and other groups perform lip-synched and choreographed acts to a variety of music for judges and an audience. Anyone is able to enter an act in the contest. This would be an excellent way to do something different and fun with friends and chapter members. If you would like to enter an act, please contact the event chair Melissa Szostowski at szostm@rpi.edu.

I hope you all take advantage of this event—see you at the Lip Sync!
