Hello everyone, I hope all of you have had a great start. As you settle into your classes and get busy with work, I wish to remind you that your respective class council and the Undergraduate Council are also working hard to improve your undergraduate experience at RPI. I urge you to participate and provide the much-needed input the councils need, as we cannot do this without your support.

For those of you who are unfamiliar with the UC, here is a short description: The Undergraduate Council consists of two representatives from each of the class councils that work together on issues that affect you, the students. Our goals this year include putting together a new Rensselaer Handbook, completing and formalizing a four-year-plan document for the councils, and approving all class constitutions and posting them online.

We also hope to improve undergraduate campus life by undertaking various small projects and helping the councils with their activities.

Are you are interested in helping to change the RPI undergraduate experience? Or do you have any ideas, suggestions or complaints? There are a number of positions open in the class councils, so if you would like to know more, e-mail me at uc@rpi.edu. Freshmen, watch out for the coming elections for your class!

The UC also has a few positions it needs to fill. We are looking for anyone interested in becoming secretary, treasurer, and webmaster.
