Proctor’s Theatre showcases Hal Holbrook’s “Mark Twain Tonight” at 8 pm. Holbrook is a Tony-award winner and Emmy award nominee for his performance as Mark Twain on CBS. Tickets cost $19.75, $29.75, $39.75, or $42.75. There is a $10 discount for children ages 17 and under.
WAMC features Lee Shaw at the Linda Norris Auditorium. Special guests include Rich Syracuse and Jeff Siegel. Shaw recently released a new album, which is a compilation of original piano compositions. Tickets cost $18. The concert begins at 8 pm.
The Egg sponsors the Key’s American Music Festival with the Martha Graham Dance Company. Accompanying the dance troupe is the Albany Symphony Orchestra featuring music such as “Errand into the Maze,” “Serenata Morisca,” and “Lamentation and Diversion of Angels.” Tickets cost $17 for children, $30 for seniors, or $34 for adults. Skidmore College showcases Europe by David Greig at the Bernard Theater Blackbox. The show is a dark comedy that confronts issues regarding nationalism and the after-effects of war. WAMC features Bucky and John Pizzarelli at 3 pm and 7 pm. The Pizzarellis are known for their skillful guitar playing, becoming one of the top jazz acts across the nation. Tickets cost $28 and the event will take place at the Linda Norris Auditorium.
The Empire State Plaza hosts the Albany Symphony Orchestra at 4 pm. The orchestra will perform “Capital Re-Collections,” with music pieces inspired by certain works of art. Tickets cost $35.
