WAMC showcases singer and songwriter Jason Ringenberg at 11:30 am. Ringenberg specializes in the punk rock and country genres. The show will take place at the Linda Norris Auditorium. Admission is free.

The Albany Symphony Orchestra performs “Mozart at the Opera,” a show featuring scenes from Mozart’s most famous operas. Among the operas showcased are “Magic Flute,” “Marriage of Figaro,” “Don Giovanni,” and “Cosi Fan Tutte.” The show begins at 8 pm and takes place at the Troy Savings Bank Music Hall. The Palace Theatre features “Off the Grid,” a Warren Miller film that shows professional skiers and riders and their adventures in remote locations such as India, Austria, and Switzerland. Highlighted scenes include Olympic trials and material from the United States Freeskier Open. The first showing begins at 6 pm and the second begins at 9 pm. Tickets cost $20.50.

Troy Savings Bank Music Hall holds “Albany ProMusica: Messiah and More” at 8 pm. The performance is part one of Handel’s famous oratorio along with a cappella music for the second half of the show. Tickets cost $10 for students and those under 24, $28 for seniors, or $30 for adults.

The McKrells perform their winter concert at the Spa Little Theater in Saratoga at 7:30 pm. The McKrells play a mixture of bluegrass, folk, and country music. Tickets cost $15.

Northern Lights presents The Burners and the Refrigerators followed by Fire and Ice at 8:30 pm. Tickets are $17. The concert is only for ages 21 and up.

The Egg showcases the Zucchini Brothers for its holiday show at 3 pm. The band consists of Jack Zucchini on guitar, Steve Zucchini on keyboard, and Sam Zucchini on drums. Tickets cost $6 for children or $8 for adults.

Comedian Carlos Mencia hosts a comedy show at The Egg. Mencia currently hosts his own show on Comedy Central, “Mind of Mencia” and has appeared as a guest actor in television shows “Moesha” and “The Shield.” The shows are at 6:30 pm and 9:30 pm. Tickets cost $42.50.

Kenny Rogers performs his greatest hits and holiday classics at The Palace Theatre. Rogers is an American singer and songwriter who has reached platinum album success as well as 22 number-one hits in the United States. His songs include “The Gambler,” “Lucille,” “She Believes in Me,” and “Islands in the Stream.” Tickets cost $42 or $55. The concert begins at 7:30 pm.

Troy Savings Bank Music Hall presents “Music at Noon—Holiday Concert” at 12 pm. Concert performers include pianist Donald Ingram and singer Leslie Boyer. Admission is free.

The Egg holds “Irish Christmas in America,” an evening of traditional Irish music and dance celebrating the holiday season. The event begins at 7:30 pm. All seats must be reserved, and a $20 donation is suggested. For more information, call the Irish American Heritage Museum at 432-6598.

Other showtimes are 7 pm on Thursday; 10:30 am or 7 pm on Friday; 11 am, 2:30 pm, or 6 pm on Saturday; and 1 pm or 4:30 pm on Sunday.

The West Point Jazz Knights perform a holiday show at the Linda Norris Auditorium. The group focuses on jazz and contemporary music, and its members are graduates of competitive music schools. Admission is free, and the show begins at 7:30 pm.
