Sheer Idiocy holds its show in the Union’s McNeil Room. The Idiots are RPI’s improv group and they will be doing their annual performance at 6 pm. Admission is free.

Troy Savings Bank Music Hall presents the Albany Symphony Orchestra in its performance, “Sizzling Sibelius.” Musical pieces include Goldmark’s “Violin Concerto,” Sibelius’ “Symphony No. 2,” and Philip Sawyer’s premiere of “The Gale of Life.” The guest performer is Dylana Jenson on the violin. Proctor’s Theatre showcases the Blues Traveler at 8 pm. The group is a blues-rock band and has performed in sold-out performances across the country. Tickets cost $19.75, $29.75, or $39.75.
The Rensselyrics hosts its Fall Invitational Concert at the Academy Hall Auditorium at 7 pm. Guest a cappella groups include the University of Massachusett’s Dynamics, SUNY Albany’s Serendipity, the Sagettes, SUNY Plattsburgh’s Minor Adjustments, and University of Rochester’s Vocal Point. The Indian Students Association celebrates the Festival of Lights by presenting its annual Diwali Festival. The show begins at 6 pm and will take place at the West Hall Auditorium. Tickets cost $6 before the show or $8 on the day of the show.
Proctor’s Theatre welcomes Audra McDonald, four-time Tony Award singer and actress. McDonald will perform a number of musical pieces at 7 pm. Tickets cost $19.75, $29.75, $39.75, or $42.75. There is a $10 discount for those 17 years old and under.
Ground Zero hosts The Mathematicians, an electronic, indie, and dance pop group from upstate New York. Tickets cost $3. The show begins at 8 pm.
