The Rensselaer Music Association holds another concert series in coordination with GM Week events. The concerts will be held in the McNeil Room from 5:30-8 pm, and there is no cost to attend.

Rensselaer a cappella groups serenade students in Mother’s from 8-10 pm. “Three for Free” features the Rensselyrics, the Rusty Pipes, and Partial Credit at no cost to the audience. Each group will perform a handful of songs from their repertoire.

Teatro Lirico D’Europa stages The Barber of Seville at Proctor’s Theatre in Schenectady from 8-10 pm. Seville is a comic opera written in 1775 that follows the attempts of several men to earn one woman’s love and money. Tickets are $39.75, $42.75, or $49.75.

Pepsi Arena welcomes the annual Auto Show from 3-9 pm. The show will run Saturday from 10 am-9 pm and Sunday from 11 am-5 pm. The show will feature over 170 new vehicles from 34 manufacturers for an admission price of $7.50. Children under 12 get in for free.

The Cultural Cook-Off exposes the community to different cultures and their styles of food. The cook-off is sponsored by Lambda Upsilon Lambda and Phi Delta Psi and will be held in the McNeil Room from 4-6 pm.

Channel 103.1 presents Taproot with special guests Evans Blue and From Satellite. The show starts at 7:30 pm at Northern Lights. Tickets are $12 in advance or $15 the day of the show.

The RPI Campus Serenaders fill Mother’s with music from 8-11 pm. The band collaborates with campus clubs, such as dance groups, by providing the music to their open dances. Attendance is free.

Ground Zero hosts their GM Week open mic night in the Nugent Hall basement from 8-11 pm. As always, the event is free to attend and perform in. All RPI musicians are encouraged to use open mic as a platform to get their names out.

The Peabody Trio returns to Emma Willard’s Kiggins Hall for a free night of classical and contemporary music sponsored by the Kodosky Foundation Fund for Classical Music. The concert is from 8-10 pm, and CDTA bus route 80 provides transportation.

Saratoga Winners presents an evening of rock music with Isaiah’s Prophecy, Rebuilding Yesterday, Three Word Murder, Ashland Park, Changing Direction, and the Left Wings. The show starts at 8 pm, and tickets are $10.

The Rusty Pipes perform their annual spring show from 7:30-9 pm in DCC 308. This semester’s guest groups are SUNY Albany’s Earthtones and Brandeis’ Up the Octave. Tickets are $4 in advance or $5 at the door.

Lambda Upsilon Lambda holds their annual poetry slam in the West Hall Auditorium from 7-9 pm. There will be poetry competition rounds as well as an open mic session.

Lionheart sings medieval and Renaissance a cappella music during their performance at the Troy Savings Bank Music Hall from 4-6 pm. Lionheart also performs Gregorian chants and songs by contemporary composers. Admission is free.

Channel 103.1 sponsors Hinder with special guests Theory of a Deadman and Faktion. Tickets are $12 in advance or $14 at the door. The concert starts at 7 pm at Northern Lights.

The Newman Catholic Fellowship hosts another labyrinth at the C+CC from 7-10 pm. This is an opportunity for people to meditate or pray to reflect on past and future experiences.

Fly 92.3 presents Switchfoot with Mute Math at 7 pm at Northern Lights. Switchfoot is on a spring tour to assure fans that they have no intentions of splitting up. Tickets are $17.50 in advance or $20 the day of the performance.
