Steven Hager and Robert Stutman debate about the legalization of marijuana in the DCC 308 from 7:30-9 pm. Hager used to be the editor-in-chief for High Times magazine, and Stutman was one of America’s highest profile drug busters. Each presenter will provide facts and arguments for his side, and the end will open up for question and answer.

The Ski Club informs others about this year’s program and big upcoming events beginning at 8:30 pm in the DCC 330. The meeting is open to all club members and others interested in joining, and refreshments will be available.

The Rensselaer Aeronautical Federation sponsors the 2005 RPI Fly-By both today and tomorrow leaving from the Albany International Airport. The rides are $10 for RAF club members and $20 for others. The C+CC hosts jazz singer Spider Saloff from 8-10:30 pm in memory of Betty Wiberly and Rita Pisarri. RPI students will be admitted free, and guest tickets are $15. For more information, contact J. Eric Smith at 274-7793.

Ensemble Galatea livens up Emma Willard’s Kiggins Hall from 8-10 pm. This is a free event sponsored by the Kodosky Foundation Fund for Classical Music, and transportation will be provided by CDTA bus route 80.

UPAC Mother’s presents Dougie MacLean in the West Hall Auditorium from 8-10 pm. Reserve tickets are now available by e-mailing mothers@rpi.edu, and prices are as follows: Free for RPI/Sage students with ID, $7 for seniors and students, $7 for RPI/Sage staff, faculty, and alumni with ID, and $15 general admission.

UPAC Concerts holds their annual fall show from 8-11 pm in the McNeil Room. This is a free show featuring several student bands.

Albany’s The Egg features Shangri-La Chinese Acrobats at 2 pm. The group will perform dazzling acrobatic displays along with explosive Kung Fu and a touch of Chinese comedy. Tickets are $18 for adults and $12 for children.

The Dance Dance Revolution Club steps up the competition with their DDR tournament in the Union games room. Registration will begin at 3 pm with an entry cost of $5 for club members and $8 for others. Some refreshments will be provided, and half of all proceeds will be donated to Project Hope. P.D.Q. Bach and Peter Schickele perform “The Jekyll and Hyde Tour” in the Troy Savings Bank Music Hall from 4-6 pm. Schickele will be accompanied by Michele Eaton, an off-coloratura soprano, and David Dusing, a tenor profundo. This is a free concert sponsored by the Kodosky Foundation Fund for Classical Music.

The Ski Club holds its Ski Expo in the McNeil Room from 6-9 pm. There will be representatives from ski mountains and equipment shops in the Northeast providing information on events and gear. Aside from the giveaways, there will also be a raffle for skis, lift tickets, and lessons.

Wednesday November 9, 2005

The CII 4050 plays host to Monday Night Football starting at 7 pm in coordination with members of the Professional Development 2 class. The Patriots vs. Colts game will be shown on a large screen TV.

Ben Chadabe and Tyrone Henderson rock the C+CC from 8-10:30 pm. This concert will combine Chadabe’s percussion with Henderson’s verbal improvisation. There is no fee to attend. For more information, contact J. Eric Smith at 274-7793.
