Saratoga Winners hosts an evening of rock concerts featuring Emery with special guests Gym Class Heroes, Gatsby’s American Dream, As Cities Burn, and The Night Life. Performances begin at 7:30 pm, and tickets are $12 at the door.

Conspirare performs a free concert in the Academy Hall Auditorium from 12-1 pm. Conspirare is an ensemble of professional singers who strive to entertain all ages by combining classical with contemporary. This event is being sponsored by The Kodosky Foundation Fund for Classical Music.
UPAC Mother’s presents Gideon Freudmann, a folk artist performing classical cello with a combination of electronics. This show is scheduled for 8-10 pm.
The Rensselaer Pride Alliance welcomes students of all lifestyles to their 2nd Annual Drag Show. This show will run from 8-10 pm in the West Hall Auditorium. RPA, along with Panhellenic Association and Interfraternity Council, will be collecting money for Project Hope as well as the Damien Center of Troy. Tickets will be $5 for students, $8 for faculty and staff, and $10 general admission.
WRPI holds a Spin Fest, a DJ Spin contest, from 9 pm-midnight in the McNeil Room. Students are encouraged to dance and meet new people. RPI students and their guests will be admitted free.

Fall Open House encourages high school students to learn more about RPI and all opportunities available to them from 9 am-2 pm. Campus tours will be leaving from the Armory throughout the day. There will also be financial advisors and admissions staff available to meet with.
The CDC offers students the chance to take free practice tests from 10 am-1 pm at various locations throughout campus. Tests available are the GRE, GMAT, LSAT and MCATs, and there will be feedback given when the tests are over. Though these are all free, sign-up is required in advance. For more information, visit
UPAC Concerts presents the Fall Battle of the Bands in the McNeil Room from 8-11 pm. Student rock bands will compete for the top prize as audience members vote throughout the shows. This is a free event for all.

Quartetto Gelato creates a unique musical blend performing an array of pieces ranging from classical masterpieces to tangos and folk songs. This concert is part of the Sylvia and Alexander Hassan ’27 Concert Series and will be held in the Troy Savings Bank Music Hall from 7-9 pm. Admission is free.

Phil Strahan teaches students and faculty about loans and how to protect themselves in the declining market. This discussion is being held in Pittsburgh 4114 from 4-5:30 pm as part of the Lally Finance Seminars. Refreshments will be served.

Paul Chabot provides students with information about how to make positive decisions concerning substance abuse. Chabot will explain his true-life story of drug abuse and beyond to teach students how to avoid that lifestyle. This discussion is being sponsored by the Student Health Center and DOSO in the DCC 308 from 7-8:30 pm.
McCormick presents Kristi Yamaguchi Friends and Family at 7 pm in the Pepsi Arena. Yamaguchi, as well as other talented skaters, will perform alongside Kenny Rogers. Tickets are priced at $36, $46, and $56, and can be purchased at http://www.pepsiarena.com/.

EMPAC continues the DANCE MOViES series with second presentation in Sage 3303 from 7:30-9 pm. Dancers will create short films and experimental videos showing raw emotion in unusual places, such as a Switzerland mountainside and a bar in France. There is no cost to attend.
