The Department of Physics, Applied Physics, and Astronomy invites all to attend the ninth Robert Resnick lecture on “Cosmology: Man’s Place in the Universe.” The talk will be from 4-5 pm in DCC 318 with refreshments at 3:30 pm.

iEAR presents Fred Wilson at West Hall Auditorium. A conceptual artist, Wilson holds his lecture on the Silent Message of the Museum. See Wilson from 7:30-9 pm for $5 general admission or free with RPI ID.

Professor Carl McDaniel releases his second book entitled Wisdom for a Livable Planet. The Union Bookstore hosts a lunch event in Mother’s from 12-1:30 pm.

Union Speaker’s Forum sponsors Albert DeMeo. DeMeo is an author on life in the mafia as a son of a mobster. This rescheduled event starts at 7:30 pm in DCC 318 and is free.

Mother’s Wine Emporium features the musical group Small Potatoes in Mother’s at 8 pm. This Chicago-based folk duo has award-wining song writings in the genres of “celtic to cowboy.” Free with RPI ID and $8 for general admissions.

The Photography Club shows off its work in an exhibition at 7 pm. There will also be a reception including desserts and coffee. It will be held in the Union in room 3602.

A poetry reading is scheduled at JAVA++. It is open to student readers of all kinds, starting at 7 pm.

Proctors Theater in Schenectady holds Cirque Eloiza~Rain. This show is said to be even better than Cirque du Soleil! The show begins at 7 pm and students can pick up one ticket for $15 in the Union Administration Office.

“The Rensselaer PolyTexas” GM Week opens in the Armory from 6-10 pm. There will be a tune-in game show, big chair photos, western obstacle course, big butt battle, gladiator joust, IPAC trivia rodeo, and pizza from the Class of 2007.

Sheer Idiocy brings laughs with its “Not the GM Week Debates” in the McNeil Room at 8 pm.

The Chapel and Cultural Center holds An Evening with the Short Story. The Hudson Valley Writers Guild and Theater Voices members read short prose fiction beginning at 8 pm.

The Fencing Club hosts a fencing tournament in the ’87 Gym. The competition starts at 8 am.

Rensselaer Aeronautical Federation invites all to on the Spring 2005 RPI Fly-By from the Albany airport from 9 am-5 pm for $20. It will happen on April 2 and 3. Reserve your spot by Thursday, March 31 at http://raf.union.rpi.edu/flyby.html.

ROTC Drill Meet is planned at RPI. The opening ceremonies will be held at 7:45 am in the Armory.

Womyn’s Fest holds a talk on “AIDS: Learn more about it!” It will happen at 3 pm and the movie Love and Diana will be shown at 3:30 pm in the Union 3602.

Womyn’s Fest concert will be held in the McNeil room from 8-12 pm. Sweet Honey in the Rock, Pamela Means, and Doria Roberts will be filling the stage.

JAVA++ hosts Meet the Candidates at 6-7:30 pm. After the GM/PU debates, the candidates are willing to meet you and answer your questions.

The Mueller Center organizes DDR, Perfect Attack, and Iron Man competitions for students to win cash prizes from 7-10 pm.

In Rules & Elections the GM/PU candidates debate on their platforms for the future for RPI in DCC 308 at 4-6 pm.

Rensselaer Alumni Association sponsors Vicarious Visions with its leaders Karthik Bala ’97 and Dr. Tobi Saulnier ’84. They produced games like Spider-Man and Star Wars. The event will be hosted in the Heffner Alumni House at 2 pm.
