The New York State Writers’ Institute hosts a four-night film festival, focusing on Quebec Cinema, as part of its Fall 2001 Classic Film Series. Crush and Yes Sir! Madame … will be shown starting at 7:30 pm. Director Robert Morin will be presenting and answering questions. The Delta Xi cast of Alpha Psi Omega presents A Lion in Winter, a two-act play. The play is from 8 to 11 pm at the RPI Playhouse and costs $5 for students.

The Shelnutt Gallery in the Rensselaer Union hosts an exhibition to honor Hispanic Heritage Month. The exhibit includes works by Sergio Gonzales Tornero and is free to the RPI community. For more information, please call 276-6505.

Home Made Theater presents Catching Babies, a one-act drama, in the Spa Little Theater in the Saratoga State Park. The play by Brenny Rabine tells the story of Marianna Ferrara, who lived in Saratoga Springs at the turn of the last century. Oakwood Cemetery President Terry Page offers a behind-the-scenes tour, "Secret Treasures and Hidden Pleasures. The tour starts at 9 am and is $10 a person, practical shoes are recommended. Call 274-1225 after 3 pm to register.

RPI presents its Fall Fest, on 8th Street at the Approach. The event includes music, magic, and food, and is from 2 to 8 pm. The event is free for the RPI community.

Panhellenic Council sponsors a tie-dye Rush event at the gazebo on Freshman Hill. The time is 2 to 4 pm and is free for RPI students.
