The latest release from Ultimate Fakebook, which came out in 2000, is a fun and easy-to-listen-to rock album. The songs on this album are fairly upbeat though they tend to be about relationships and the trouble we have dealing with them. The title track from the album This Will Be Laughing Week, is a very catchy song that makes you forget about your troubles and remember what it was like to be a little kid. The song is about a carnival and riding carousels. This song is one example of the warmth, humor, compassion, and energy that the band has.

Some of my favorite songs from the album include "Of Course We Will," "A Million Hearts," "This Will Be Laughing Week," and "Far, Far Away." These songs have sounds ranging from hard-edged folk rock to the jaunty air of the sixties.

The band is comprised of Bill McShane on guitar and vocals, Eric Melin on drums, and Nick Colby on bass. The band has intentions of making music without machines. They remember the days when getting tickets to a rock show was the most important thing that happened that day and when rock and roll was fun. Through their irresistible melodies and yearning vocal sliding they are doing exactly that.
