Community Winners
The Red & White Student Organization would like to thank the 50 Year Club of the Rensselaer Alumni Association for their generosity in awarding the 50 Year Club Community Action Prize in April to four deserving Red & White members.
The Community Action Prize for members of the Red & White Student Organization is an ongoing contribution of the 50 Year Club. The club awards three cash scholarships to Junior or senior Red & White members who display outstanding participation in the Rensselaer and surrounding community. Since 2007, the Community Action Prize has awarded Red & White members more than $15,000 of support. Congratulations to this year’s winners, Elise Budd ’14 in first place, Evan Perreault ’15 in second place, and Leslie Smith ’14 and Christina Gilliland ’14, who tied for third.
The 50 Year Club is an organization of alumni who have graduated 50 or more years ago from Rensselaer. The club was created to promote engagement with students and the Institute among its alumni members, and to keep the spirit of Rensselaer alive in older alumni. They are dedicated alumni who are very involved on campus. An example of a project created by the group is the 50 Year Club display case in the Rensselaer Union lobby. It is designed to honor the class that becomes eligible to join the club each year.
Thank you to the 50 Year Club for their amazing ongoing support!
