The end of the year is quickly approaching and the final Executive Board appointments of the semester will be made this week. Once the new E-Board is filled we will begin orientation and establish our goals as a board for the next year. As the chair of the E-Board, I will be working to unify the new members quickly to enable the Board to reach its full potential. The major objectives of the E-Board next year will be to improve relations with clubs, inform the campus of ongoing business and events, and to gather feedback from students about the facility of the Union and its services.

Club representatives will be working closely with their clubs in order to understand their purposes and also offer the necessary services and representation each club deserves. Next year, the E-Board will be using various marketing techniques to better promote events and to inform students as a whole of ongoing activities. The student feedback program that now is being developed will be used next year to seek out your complaints and concerns, so that we can address them. The Union exists for the students and we intend to make changes to the facility and programs that will improve them for you.

The last business meeting of the 2001-2002 Executive Board will be held this week. I would like to thank the members of this year’s E-Board, it has been a pleasure working with all of you and I hope our paths cross again.

Congratulations to Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute’s Class of 2002! I wish you all the best of luck in your future endeavors–may your life beyond RPI be prosperous and complete. To the rest of the students: Good luck on your finals and remember you can study in the Union, as it will be open 24 hours Sunday to Thursday throughout the end of the semester. Remember, if you ever have any questions or concerns, you can contact the Executive Board at eboard@union.rpi.edu or myself at pu@rpi.edu, and check out our updated website http://www.rpi.edu/dept/union/eboard/public_html.
