Sometimes, you just need to kick back, relax, and binge watch a good show. From excellent writing, captivating cinematography, and innumerable laughs, The Polytechnic's wide-ranging recommendations cover all bases and you will be sure to find something you like.

  • If you could not get enough of The Pitt, I prescribe you with the 1990s show: ER. It was the crème de la crème of medical dramas through the naughts, with relevant commentary on current affairs, excellent storytelling, and Noah Wyle. Andor is a work of art whose messaging transcends the Star Wars universe. Daredevil: Born Again was excellent, but missed some marks that its predecessor, Daredevil, had set the standard for. Normal People truly captured Sally Rooney's delicate and hyper-realistic writing in such a beautiful way.

  • The Good Place is a great combination of situational comedy and philosophical thought. It comes from the same creator as The Office and Parks and Recreation, and the same dry humor is brought to life, set in a bizarre afterlife with moral conundrums. I recommend it to fans of sitcoms who are intrigued by ethics or anyone interested in philosophy who is also looking to laugh.

Anna Stubbs

  • Gilmore Girls has been my top show for years. Severance is also a must-watch and one of the greatest shows I’ve ever seen.

Soma Patra

  • My top recommendations for a good laugh are Brooklyn Nine-Nine, Sherlock, House MD, Man on the Inside, and The Good Place. How It’s Made is also an awesome techy choice.

Audrey Johnson

  • Murderbot, for the incredible concept of a killing machine that just wants to watch soap operas all day. What on Earth? because satellite photos are cool.

Sophia Meneses

  •  Dance Moms, Jane the Virgin.

Ryan Gibeau

  • MasterChef and Impractical Jokers. Standard stuff, but it’s been my go-to for years.

Eleni Doughney

  • Gilmore Girls is my favorite show to binge-watch at the moment. There’s never a dull moment amongst the characters, yet it's still the perfect, relaxing comfort watch after a long day. Plus, the dialogue always hits the spot–I would sell my soul for Rory Gilmore’s vocabulary. The Good Place has been one of my favorites for years. It's comedic, philosophical, and has some of the best rewatch value I've seen on television–definitely something you should watch at least once in your life.

Anthony Santiago

  • Breaking Bad.

Devyn Martin

  • Heated Rivalry is a must. Adults is literally Gen Z Friends. Abbott Elementary is one of the best sitcoms. Everyone should watch Glee at least once. And you'll just have to trust me on Jurassic World: Camp Cretaceous.

Marissa Ho

  •   One Piece live-action season 2.

Moiz Steenhuis

  •  Andor. One Way Out! Hands down the best piece of Star Wars media since 1980 (you are good too, Clone Wars).

John Molloy

  • If looking for sitcoms, check out Flight of the Conchords, especially season 1. If you like Nathan Fielder (Nathan for You), check out The Rehearsal

Riley Sobel

  • How It’s Made, How the Universe Works, Outrageous Acts of Science, Mythbusters. Why? Why not? You are at a STEM school, succumb already.

Anna Zuniga

  • Mom and Brooklyn Nine-Nine are perfect to watch while doing mindless activities. The Rookie and Bridgerton are great dramas.

Wesley Huynh

  • Jujutsu Kaisen, because the story is unpredictable and has lots of unique, impactful characters.

Ronan Hevenor

  • Stranger Things. Season 5 was not my favorite, but it has a place. The Good Place is one of my favorite shows of all time. If you haven’t seen it yet, you definitely should.

Mary O’Brien

  • The Pitt is for every adrenaline junkie who enjoys fast-paced medical TV shows. Love Story: John F Kennedy Jr and Carolyn Bessette, if you are looking to cry over a mostly accurate and very tragic American love story.
