Class of ’16 updates

Welcome back, RPI. This week you’ll be hearing from Joshua Schramm ’16, president of the sophomore class, here to bring you updates from 2016’s Class Council.

Hello, my name is Joshua Cole Schramm and I am the president of the Class of 2016. The Class of 2016 Council is hard at work with many things. The class ring committee is just now sending out requests, allowing the companies to come to us. The class gift committee is narrowing down our list of potential gifts with the help of RPI administrators.

For the most part, however, the whole Council is focusing on one huge event: We are planning a 1.16 mile color run. The Council is currently going through the proper motions to get approval from both RPI and Troy. The overarching plan is to involve nearly every single Rensselear Union club and RPI organization. We hope to have all these organizations participate in the finish-line festival and along said race. While I would love to divulge more information, I will hold off till a later date.

Here’s some additional information for you! The Class of 2016 will have a class movie night on Saturday, February 22 to see the movie Up!; the first 50 sophomores will get in for free. With respect to the iPad contest, sophomore Jishnu Mandal was the lucky winner. Congratulations!

If you have any ideas, questions, or feedback for me or the Class of 2016 Council, please don’t hesitate to contact me. If you wish to join the Class of 2016 Council, it only requires three consecutive meetings and majority approval to join. Our meetings are held every Friday in the Student Government Suite from 5–6 pm. Stay warm, all you beautiful people!
