PSS: we can build it

ON A FROSTY SATURDAY MORNING, 11 VOLUNTEERS WOKE UP early to fulfill their commitment to the community. Dedicating their time to Habitat for Humanity, the midshipmen traveled to a construction site next to the Southern Troy Tavern to build houses for the less fortunate living in Troy. The midshipmen provided a variety of services which included organizing tools, demolition, and of course construction. Midshipman Sullivan and brothers Kody and Kyle Priddle organized a shipping container filled with vinyl siding, front doors, and other building supplies. Midshipmen Bennett, Yager, and Kriley assembled numerous walls making effective use of the nail gun, while Midshipman Gregory measured and cut the boards used in those walls. After four hours at the build site, the Navy Reserve Officers Training Corps RPI midshipmen had prepared and assembled a total of five wall sections, creating the entire back wall of one of the housing units.  Covered in sawdust and grit, the volunteers were able to look around the construction site with pride at the end of the day.
