The Red Hawks returned eight members from last year’s men’s golf team, many of them being seniors—as opposed to no seniors last year. This group will look to provide a great deal of knowledge and experience; but make no mistake about it, they are all about fun.

The team hopes to have a few underclassmen join the team as well this year. Tryouts were held yesterday, August 28.

RPI will play in seven tournaments this season, many of which it has competed in years past. The team will even host a tournament of its own, the Rensselaer Invitational, to be held on October 21 and 22.

Head Coach Miles Nolan, in his fifth year, and the golf team will open their season the weekend of September 9 when they take part in the Tim Brown Invitational to be held in Saratoga Springs, N.Y. The event will take place on Saturday and Sunday.

From there, the RPI men will head to Middlebury, Vt., for the Duke Nelson Tournament. It will undoubtedly be an action-packed start to the golf team’s season.
