Introduction

The Rensselaer women’s tennis team won all 18 of their matches this weekend as the Red Hawks had their way with Clarkson and SUNY Brockport, downing both teams by impressive scores of 9-0 and 9-0.

Nazareth has been the only squad to manage a win against RPI this season, as they took one match in the RPI Invitational last week.

The Red Hawks now stand at 4-0 overall and 2-0 in Liberty League play. Perhaps the only disappointment this past week was their match versus Hartwick was postponed until this Wednesday, September 15.

Cross-Country

Saturday, the Rensselaer men’s and women’s cross country teams finished second in their respective races in the Engineers Cup which also featured MIT and WPI.

MIT swept the meet taking first in both the men’s and women’s races with 15 point each. The RPI men scored 55 points and the women scored 59 points.

Sophomore Lauren Carter placed sixth in 20:18 to lead the women while Greg Mariano finished 11th overall in 28:12.7 for the men.
