Top 5 Games: 5: Tampa Bay Buccaneers 31,

The Buccaneers bounced back from a tough defeat last week at the hands of the Carolina Panthers to clobber the Michael Vick-less Falcons.

Warren Sapp had his first offensive touchdown and afterwards, proceded to start a bizarre tribute dance to Beyonce Knowles’ “Crazy in Love” in the end zone.

Michael Pittman had a huge day for the Bucs, rushing and receiving the ball for 82 yards apiece.

Warrick Dunn was ineffective at best for the Falcons, carrying the ball only nine times for a measly seven yards.

4: New England Patriots 23, New York Jets 16

It appeared to be a battle between kickers, with the Patriots’ Adam Vinatieri and the Jets’ Doug Brien facing off until early in the third quarter.

The Patriots finally took control with a quarterback scramble from Tom Brady and an interception return for a touchdown by the fourth round draft pick, cornerback Asante Samuel.

Curtis Martin was held in check for the third straight game, only rushing for 53 yards on 21 carries.

The Patriots lost more players to injury as Ted Washington and David Patten were both hurt and did not return. Brady and Ty Law were both hurt but returned to the game.

3: Seattle Seahawks 24, St. Louis Rams 23

The Seahawks prevailed in a close game that could mean a lot in the battle for the NFC West title. Koren Robinson grabbed a touchdown from Matt Hasselbeck with just a minute remaining to cap off 13 unanswered points.

The Rams now have a lot of questions to answer if they want to make the playoffs. Perennial leaders Marshall Faulk and Kurt Warner are both on the bench.

Faulk is out for four to six weeks with a broken hand and Warner being demoted behind the young Marc Bulger. Faulk will take the time to have surgery on an ailing knee.

2: Denver Broncos 31, Oakland Raiders 10

Jake Plummer keyed an offense that ran all over the veteran Raiders defense.

Plummer had two touchdowns to Shannon Sharpe and Ashley Lelie, and ran for another. He also broke a record that was previously held by Bronco legend John Elway with his 40 yard scramble. Elway’s longest was only 34 yards.

The only negatives on the night for the broncos was that running backs Clinton Portis and Mike Anderson had to leave the game with injuries. Luckily neither of them looked to be very serious.

1: Miami Dolphins 17, Buffalo Bills 7

In a mild upset, the Dolphins’ Ricky Williams ran all over the Bills with 42 carries for 153 yards in a battle of AFC East foes.

The Bills, who managed 69 points in their first two games, could only manage 118 yards and no points offensively. The only Bills’ touchdown came on Nate Clements’ 54 yard interception return.

Former Patriot quaterback Drew Bledsoe could only manage to complete 10 passes in 25 attempts for 98 yards and had two interceptions.

Player of the Week: Priest Holmes

Holmes’ importance to the Chiefs is immeasurable right now. He is a huge part of why this team is 3-0 and thinking about their first playoff berth since the last century. He easily had over 100 all purpose yards (89 yards rushing, 67 yards receiving) and scored twice. Look for this team deep into January.

Disappointment of the Week: Drew Bledsoe

The Bills versus Dolphins game had a lot of playoff implications in the tight AFC East race, and Bledsoe brought nothing of what he had against the Patriots and the Jaguars.

You can’t place all of the blame on his shoulders, but you can at least expect your quarterback to complete more then 10 passes in one game.

Watch out for ... : Dante Hall

This guy knows how to return kicks.

With everybody focusing on Brian Mitchell and Chad Morton as return specialists, Hall has fallen under the radar.

With five return touchdowns in eight games, he is a threat from anywhere if you kick to him.

If teams don’t wise up and continue to kick to him, look for Hall to continue to hurt squads on special teams.
