On Friday evening the Red Hawks played the Union Dutchwomen in their first UCAA conference game of the season.

The Red Hawks opened this game with great passion. They came ready to play. In the beginning of the game they stayed with the Dutchwomen, never letting the lead get to far ahead.

Due to sloppy ball handling and passing, after about ten minutes of play in the first half the Red Hawks started to slip away. At the end of the half the Red Hawks found themselves down by fifteen points.

Refusing to let the game get away, the Red Hawks came out aggressive in the second half. Sophomore guard Kaitlyn Saunders made a shot off of a fast break after about five minutes of play in the second to close the gap.

But even with all of the hard work and effort the Red Hawks just couldn’t come away with the win. They fell to Union 79-62.
